When did you have your waterpump replaced?

Toyota water pumps are notorious. In every model of every year. It's a running joke in the Technician community. Some of the conspiracy theorists among us even think it's the pink coolant that causes it.
Seriously, during my time with Honda and Chevy I never saw more than maybe 5 water pumps fail. Since being with Toyota and now Lexus I get one a week.

Getting a new one tomorrow along with a new drive pulley and belt tensioner. Noticed a chirping sound when idling in drive or reverse. Went away when in neutral. Son from Dynamic noticed some leakage from the water pump when diagnosing the drive belt. 119K miles and I think this is the first major component to fail on me.

Mine is getting done at 85k. Along with valves being changed. Out of the 85k on the car I probably have put 150miles myself. I just bought the car, thank goodness I got the extra Platnium warranty

It's worthwhile to check out your serpentine belt too if you're changing out the water pump. According to my dealer, my water pump bearing cracked and I had it replaced at approximately 60k miles if I recall correctly. You can hear a clicking/rattling from it. Shortly after, my engine started squealing (days before I brought it in) and that was caused by a glazed serpentine belt. Since they were already taking out the belt to get to the pump, I only had to pay for the belt for a mere $40.
So if you're getting the pump replaced under warranty, might as well have them change out the belt if it's starting to wear. Save you a few bucks down the road.

2008 IS250 AWD with 86K haven't had any water pump issues but now i''ll start keeping an eye out for it. If it fails I hope it does befor the 100K warranty expires.
