Painting my roof black
I need some help. Im getting my roof painted black but not sure what type of black to request. The car is Tungsten pearl, I have very dark tinted windows and sun roof. My ultimate goal is to have the rear glass and sun roof match the black paint as much as possible so it blends well. Same "sheen" or "gloss' as the Tungsten too.....sorry, im not schooled in autot paint. Any sugestions?

No on the Vinyl. Definitly want it painted. I am taking it to the shop this evening. The car is already being painted due to hitting a damn blown semi tire on the highway.....2K worth of damage. FIgured I would go ahead and do the roof as I've wanted to for quite a while. They have already quoted me $500 to have it done but we did not talk "type" of black. This place in AZ is the authorized Audi, BMW, Jag ect repair shop owned by Penske so Im sure they will give me solid advice. I just wanted to get everyones opinion before I went down there.

My oppinion. Black is black. The true black color code is 000000. Any other variation of black wouldn't be a true black. "sheen" has more to do with the clear coat and finish. in addition, there is no need for you to stick to lexus color codes because lexus paint is not a standard in the automotive paint industry nor would i think it to be superior to other reputable brands. Im sure you can go to any local auto paint shop and buy a gallon of quality black paint for your roof for under $50 dollars and have pretty much any reputable body shop paint your roof black for under $300 all for a total under $350. If you are like some of the other members on here that would rather pay more than you should than go ahead but i do hope you consider my argument before you pay $500 for your roof. In addition, i wouldn't write off getting the roof wrapped to quickly. Its proves to be not only the more inexpensive choice but the results are almost just as good and it doesn't devalue your vehicle as painting it would simply because it can be easily removed.
