Default Issue with ML center dashboard speaker *Solved*

Hey guys, recently the center dashboard speaker started to sound really bad. There is this hissing sound at any volume, also sounds like there is something on the cone that bounces off... I tried to search similar issues, but found only threads with older GS with ML sound system models. However, the description sounds similar. I never listen to heavy bass music and Im not sure when and how all that started...Does anyone know how can I get an access to the speaker? I am afraid to pry out the grill before Im sure thats the right way..
A replacement OEM ML speaker is $265, which is quite hefty price for a tweeter.. Any advice here would be appreciated.
The car is 09 IS350 with ML sound system
Thanks.

Aren't you still under warranty? Dealer should replace it. There are not a lot of ML sysstems in IS's, at least back when I was selling them. We had only 1 or 2. I'm sure that there are aftermarket speakers you can get but don't know myself. Sorry.

You have to take out vents than you can pop out two clips with your fingers that holds speaker cover. It's very easy.

There was a thread not too long ago that spoke of making it a secret compartment. I believe it had a how-to open up that speaker.

Like the others said, one would think you're under warranty and the dealer should fix. It broke under normal use but was not due to any extreme circumstance on your part. It was simply part failure if what you say happened.

car is at 62000 miles, no warranty at this point . I'll search how to remove the vents, It seems hard to pry the grill out from the top without harm.

Thanks guys!

I did what has been suggested. Took out the vents which gave me minimum access to the drivers side clip of the speaker grill (cover), pushed it with a finger and popped right out. Removed the speaker held by two 10 bolts. Peeled half of the fabric that covers the speaker and there was the problem. The dust cap of the speaker had come loose and was bouncing on the membrane. Glued it back in place and problem was solved.

Thanks guys!
