AP2 tips w/ trimmed tailpipe
I know there are a bunch of thread on ap2 tips already, but many people don't like how the AP2 tips stick out far without gfx lip and decide against them. I trimmed back my stock tailpipes today, by about 1.5-2" and I think it looks much much better. The tips go all the way back and pretty much touch the muffler.

So its been a few days now and I am really digging the new look of the car with the ap2 tips. While I was cutting the pipe I also threw a fresh coat of flat black on the face of the mufflers to cover up some rock dings there. I think this is a great mod for someone who wants the look of an exhaust without worrying about the sound or spending a bunch of money.
Also, since i bought the tips used, they originally had a lot of carbon buildup on them, carburetor cleaner made taking the carbon off super easy, so if anyone runs into that problem, carb cleaner is the solution.

Instead of having the mufflers black, have you considered polishing them? Granted they're tucked under the rear bumper cover but looking at them polished with the AP2 tips looks good IMO. I've done this to my OEM mufflers and I like it much more than the black coating. It stands out when you're following the car and looking at the mufflers.
It looks like a polished aftermarket without the $$ associated with purchasing one.
Just something to think about....
