dash are messed up bc of you guys,is not the material, is not defective. at some point someone applied something to the dash causing it to get sticky in heat or melt, look at the picture where is pointed out, this spot is the hardest part to apply anything to it, most likely no one has ever put anything on it, go head and touch and look at spot still looks mint condition, so please dont blame the dash,

You're wrong shervin. My dashboard has never seen anything else other than a damp cloth and it looks like a battle zone. In addition, it is developing cracks lines right above the glove compartment. It's a ****ty *** material.

Can't all this be prevented by a windshield cover? Don't quote me on this as I don't fully understand the dash deformity, but I do put a sealant on my dash every other week to keep it clean looking. Other than that, I do what the owners manual says.

mine is in pretty crappy shape it is all sticky and i ran my finger across the part above the ac vent and it smuged a little and then slowly my OCD made me try to rub the smuged more and more every day now it looks worse. I emailed my SA she is pretty good she got my CD player replaced if that does not lead anywhere ill call Lexus HQ to see if they will work with me. Has anyone tried one of those black cloth covers?

My dash is melts and is sticky. I called corporate as advised from this site and they told me to go to the dealer. The dealer took pictures and is sending to corporate. I just left the dealer. He said he would know something by next week. My door panels are also all messed up. I purchased a used car and it was from Georgia, and I guess Miami heat didn't sit well with the dash and doors.

Question though, dealer said sometimes Lexus covers the part, but I'd have to pay the labor, which is $942. (he said the part is $1,800) How did some of you manage to pay hundreds less? Any dealers in Miami that charge less than almost $1,000? He said its an all day job, and that's why it's so expensive....someone else wrote its a few hours job. Any advice?

Just a heads up, the previous owner included a run of the mill aluminum/sliver looking sun shade when I bought the car. The shad itself left minor scratches on the dash that I've yet to deal with
