I love these lights, but considering losing the AFS and seeing a blinking AFS light I still cannot justify spending this amount of money even with the discount

Go drive a 90's gm with halogen headlights on a non-lit curvy road at night and then tell me afs doesn't do anything. Yes the projectors may not be as good as some of the other ones, like my gf's RDX, but they are still great lights, especially coming from a 2008 Subaru with halogens and... You guessed it, a 97 Chevy. Like I said before, if they made the MYLED with AFS I'd be all over em.

Damn....did not know about the blinking AFS. I'm also OCD and would drive me crazy. Besides...while backing in my garage earlier this evening broke my passenger JDM (Nigel) turn signal side mirror. Looks like time to upgrade to the OEM side mirrors.

Probably not. I'd like to buy a house sometime this year so I'm taking it easy with the mods.

First bad comparison and second we don't have alot of those in the D.C. area from what Joe Z wrote they do come with the AFS on the 2011's but you will be stuck with the blinking light

Are the LED's at 100% intensity at night with the headlight on? If so is it too bright? I'd hate to have the cops pull me over... =O

Josh how is the LED intensity at night with the lowbeams on? Is it overwhelming brightness or does it go down to 50%?

That is NOT what I wrote...

AFS = Adaptive Front-lighting System (AFS) is found on most 2006 - 2010 Lexus IS's that have the HID Headlamp Housings..
This ALSO includes the Up & Down Auto-Leveling feature...

If you have Halogen Bulb headlamps (non-HID) found in some 2006 - 2012 IS's, you have NONE of these features..

Now for 2011-2012 IS's - w/ new LED Day Time Running Light Strips.....

THERE IS NO AFS feature.... I will repeat it again... There is NO AFS feature...

However, the Auto Leveling Up & Down feature remains.

Anyone Questions..!!??

In my opinion (going from 06-08 HID's to 12 HID's), the new projectors are slightly better. The beam pattern is nicer and the hot spot is slightly lower. The light output is nicer, but the beam is not really any wider. Side-mount projectors like this just can't pull off a very wide beam.

I'm with you on this one. I think afs is too much to sacrifice for some leds. Now if i didn't have afs, then I might swap to these.

On a side note, anyone know if the 2013 GS has afs headlights? Just curious why Lexus removed afs to add leds in the IS.
