Dealer damaged my rim?
Brought the car in for its 10K oil change and the balance and rotation and after making it to the house I find my rim damaged. Normally I check out my rims anytime someone messes with them but for some reason I didn't check them out at the dealer.
Does this look like dealer damage or did I run into something? I don't want to blame them if it looks like I caused it but I washed the car two days ago and would have noticed.

That's an interesting gouge on your wheel. I was thinking how this could have happened. If you know what your wheels look like and you keep an eye on them, then go ask them. Only problem is that you're home already and they can tell you that you made that mark on your wheel. Good luck.

This looks like it was done by some screw driver or sharp metal thingy. Doesn't look like a curb rash. You could go back to the dealer immediately and inspect the tools that they've used to check your wheels.
I always check my car as soon as I get it from the dealer mainly because they go through even a tiny little scratch and note it down on a sheet before taking the car from me , so i make sure I do the same while I get mine back too.
Good luck pal.

you should really walk around the car before leaving for a spot check, honestly since your home you cant prove you didnt run over a blown out tire on the way home which ive seen cause something similar to this. You can try to call and ask them and they might take care of you. just be honest and say you didnt have anything wrong with it when you dropped off and how there is a scratch and you think it could have happened there.

The same thing happened to me just after I purchased my brand new IS. I brought it back a few weeks later for tint. When I got home I saw a gouge similar to yours on my wheel. I was thinking it may have been due to an automatic car wash possibly. I am meticulous with my car and I knew it was them. They said they would review the camera footage. Fortunately the dealership fixed it and it is like it never happened. I will not make that mistake again. I will spot check when I drop off and perform another one with the same service person afterwards. It's sad that I have to treat a Lexus dealership the same way I would with a Joe Shmoe auto garage.
