Auto dimming rear view mirror not working well
Does anyone else have this problem where the sensor on the rear view mirror to make it dim doesn't get any light from the cars behind because of the brake light under the rear window? Without any light, it doesn't dim correctly.

The light is hitting the rear view mirror but the rear brake light under the back window casts a shadow and prevents any light from hitting the sensor. What is circled in white is causing a shadow in the area circled in yellow. I don't know what else to do.

I have the same issue myself. I was wondering if there was a way to manipulate the mirror to stay dark. In the meantime I have been looking for some kind of tint to overlay on it. I have searched for electrostatic tint to no avail.
