So who has front bumper alignment issues?
So this is the 3rd 2nd gen IS I have owned and they all have had the same issue through time. It seems like the area where the front bumper meets the fender on both the driver and passenger side starts develop a gap through time. I don't think Lexus did a very good job designing the fitment of the front bumper on the IS as it seems to be under stress in these areas. Not to mention there is only one bolt holding the bumper to the fender on each side. It appears that the area that clips in closer to the headlights loses it tension through time and pulls out slightly allowing you to see a small gap. I'm wondering if there is a way to fix this? Or has anyone attempted to with any success?

The areas right below the headlight units show such gap through a very few years. The dealer claimed it was normal and would not fix it. Maybe the clips were not working good any more. But the gap still present after using new clips. Just live and drive with the gaps.

My 06 had a fender bender. After repairs, a noticeable gap was left. Damage costs came out of pocket so, I looked for the most affordable shop. I should not had done so. I end up taking it to a different body shop and this guy managed to use screws and fasten these two pieces together. Not 100% but much better than before.
Try re-inforcing it with screws not clips. Screws will force these two parts (fender/bumper) to come together. Clips won't! New bumper not necessary unless, it is really damaged.
