There are aftermarket programming tools that work fine on the Lexus, so no you don't have to go to Lexus, but if you do, chances are they'll get it working on the first try.

Most Lexus dealers (at least in Canada) should be able to read the TPMS codes without dismounting the wheels as well, as there is an SST to do just that, and then use the Techstream to program them to the car. The aftermarket programmers can do both, usually.

I have the same problem. I have no TPMS on my is250 2006. I kind of got use to the warning lights, but if I can purchase these babies cheaper (under $100 set of four new) than dealer prices, I will of course buy from ebay. Now, here is my scenario and hopefully someone can help.
Can these sensors be of different part #? I was given #42607-33030 and Sewell has #42607-30030. The #'s on ebay (42607-33021/11) do not match these other numbers. According to my local dealer, I must use the exact part number that matches my bin # or sensors may not work. I really don't want to take a chance. I hear different versions but I want to hear it from someone that has really opted to buy from ebay and has taken them to be programmed at dealer.

Can you post pictures of all items you will be using to get these sensors installed (e.g. sensors part #, washers etc.) and can you also let us know once the installation is complete and lights are off your board.
I know dealers discourage people from buying aftermarket products because they want to make the big bucks, but it these parts work we do not have to buy from dealer.

Have you solved your problem yet?
Any lights still on for your TPMS?
Where did you finally take it?
Did your dealer people give you any hassle because they were aftermarket or bought off ebay?
