Gas mileage bump- Traction control off ?
I have been running alot lately with my traction control off and also have been getting about a half of mile per gallon better mileage of late. Anybody seen anything like that ? I also changed the front wheel bearings lately. Crazy

I have to do the petal dance in mine as well. I wish it could be turned off while driving.

I have given up on mileage. I get an average of 21 (maybe 20% freeway). My old Acura CLS Type S, with more HP gave me better mileage. Oh well!

Not sure why turning traction control off would increase MPG. Any theories?

You have to turn it off every time you start the car. When you turn the car off the traction control resets to default (i.e. "on").

then you're not turning it off properly.
Since you have an 06 you'll need to do the pedal dance. (07+ models can just hold the button down for 5 seconds).
Do that and it stays off till you restart the car.

Nope. It'll always be "on" when you start the car.
With the pedal dance you can turn it entirely off till you restart the car.
(you could always swap in an 07+ traction ECU to be able to turn it off until restart with the button... but as I recall it's a really stupid amount of money)

Turning off traction control has no effect on fuel mileage.
I heard if you filled your trunk and back seat with helium balloons it would make the car lighter so mileage would increase.
