VSC Light On - Sulfur smell from IS350
Whaaaa?
Second time this has happened.
Car wont start, lights come on in dash.
VSC Warning light is on, check engine light is on, Traction control light is on. Also, the front defrost button is flash amber LED, and air is set to 85 degrees.
Gas cap is tight.
Bad rotten egg smell coming from car.
Took it to the dealer to diagnose, any ideas?
Thanks!

A Google search yielded this possible answer:
SMELLS LIKE: ROTTEN EGGS
WHEN: Any time your engine is running.
THE CULPRIT: Hydrogen sulfide in the exhaust, which is produced by trace amounts of sulfur in gasoline. It's supposed to be converted to sulfur dioxide in your catalytic converter. This may be indicative of a fuel-injection problem, and can be cured by a sharp mechanic. But often it means a failed catalytic converter. The bad news: A new cat is expensive. The good news is it's probably covered under warranty. Check with your dealer.
Let us know if the dealer confirms this!

Dealer replaced the battery.
The odor was strong and could only smell it when I tried to start the car and had no turn over, just a click and the dash lights turned on.
Maybe this is an overlooked issue to check now if a VSC Light displays.
Car runs normal, and happy that the tranny reset too }

So apparently mine is doing it and I'm out of warranty. What I'm worried about is if my voltage system is OVERCHARGING the battery. I looked in the battery and it has no water in it, was smoking a slight bit, & had some "watery" stuff leaking from the top.
Needless to say it needs to be replaced. And I have a replacement in my garage I'm just not sure if my system is overcharging it.
