Foot brake light on dash

Foot brake light on dash
My foot brake lights now turns on and off. When i start the engine the light that says brake is on. I then step on the foot brake to take it off the brake. The light turns off, but when i step on the foot brake again the light doesnt turn on the dash.
Any ideas what is causing this. Seems like Im having some kind of electrical issue.
