the oem ballasts are pretty weak, get some new ones from theretrofitsource or ebay or something

Is there a DIY for a ballast change? the only one i can find is not for 2nd Gens.

Has anyone done this without taking the lens apart? this seems like a lot.

from what I believe you need to remove bumper to remove the headlights
the ballasts are located under the headlights
then you just gotta unplug/plug some cables connected to the bulb?
not entirely sure as i don't have oem xenons but this is how i installed my morimoto's (placed ballasts under the headlight to make it oem-like)
