Swapped my console, steering wheel and door switch lights..

***be sure to remember the orientation of the leds and to test with multimeter after soldering***
i would start with soldering the navigation unit first. the leds are bigger so it’s good practice. the 0603 leds for the radio are super tiny. once you get the hang of things, do the radio. when desoldering leds, don’t rush things. try not to yank the leds because you can rip the trace. if you have a damaged trace, take a look here and you can also try a conductive pen.

remove screws on both sides and pry out connector


pry tabs


pull bottom piece towards you to remove


pry tabs


pry tabs on both sides and you should be able to remove the face


flip upwards to remove ribbons


remove side panel


pull out and you should have access to trunk/gas, shade, and < O > buttons
< O > button is held on by 3 screws


pry button covers and remove green diffuser


center vent
pry white piece


pry everything apart and remove pink diffuser
the led can’t be desoldered so you have to cut it. i made the holes where the legs come out of bigger so it's easier to cut
bend the led just like in the picture


pull out the side vent


unscrew and pry


pry apart and desolder led


pry with tool or fingernails


start button can be popped out from the back once navigation unit is removed
pry on both sides


slide


desolder


everything apart
leds can't be desoldered so you have to cut again


remove 4 screws


pry seat warmer


everything apart


seat warming apart


cig lighter
twist to remove bulb

I'll probably start chipping away at doing this....love the white lights with a few blue accents. I did the same on my 4Runner, but that was a simple bulb replacement. Wish these were that easy

Hi Binh I just look over the website that selling the 0603 and 1206 they are not in the same mcd? the 0603 LED is 600mcd and 1206 is only 355 mcd, if that not matching in mcd, so the output is not in the same bright? and for the push button if I just what to change the green look so all I need is the 3mm white LED? so I don't need 3 prongs 5mm LED right? thanks

updated with ebay links. if you want to change the push to start words and all you need is 3mm led but when you press start without foot on pedal it goes into acc. i think that is green so if you want to change that then you'll need 5mm with 3 prongs.

thanks for the post, very informative, I just had most of my LED's switched by TIM, I'm currently doing the seats warmers and pwr ect / snow button, I can't get the dang button out of the console for the pwr ect / snow, I see there are 4 retainer nubs which I have gotten them all lose, but it's still stuck, will I break something If I keep pulling?

I have a 07GS so my stuff is slightly different I know the housing for the pwr ect / snow button is different but removal might be the same. (console is already removed, just need to get that last bit apart.

got it, it doesn't remove the same way as the traction control button (at least not in the GS) cracked the housing but it still functions, but, not sure if the light still works or the the bulb failed as coincidence, if it doesn't work I'll just get a new one lol oh well.

looks like just the bulb...had to find a magnifying glass
