Same thing happened to me awhile back like a year ago after I came out with my gf from a mall within 15 mins of time. Except mine were both doors on the passenger side with two at least 7inches long keyed marks. Instant $700 outta my wallet to get it repainted. Goodluck man hope you can fix it yourself to save your wallet. Its sad but park as far away as possible is really the only thing you can do to avoid the haters.

^ Damn man that sounds harsh Never heard of that happening before lol
Anyways OP feel better, this is where my old car got keyed back when i stayed at the dorms
(The lines weren't really this dark - I went over them in paint so you can see where it happened better)
^ Went all the way to the rear tail light

That sux... that is so wrong to mess with another person's ride for no reason. It pissed me off when crap like this happens.
Reminds me of the time when I was studying at a library and some high school that it was cool to impress his GF by keying her name "Suzie" on the hood of my Civic. I wanted to kill that person. TO this day, I wish that person would die a horrible death from cancer because he deserve it more than the other cancer patients.
Anyway, if the mark is down to the primer or metal, leave it to the pros. If it's just the clear coat, you can easily buff it out with light wet sanding and polish.
