I want to get a one for my 07 IS250 but I was wondering I have a friend of mine who got one with his gs350 but he never uses the card he was going to just give it to me can I have that card programmed to work for my car instead of having to buy one from the dealership?

Thanks in advance.

The part number listed for the IS F (08-09, 10+ has the F logo) and ISx50 (09+) is the same as the GS (09+).

Looks like it should work fine, but apparently (so I've been told), you'll need to clear out your car's keys and start fresh if you try to program a used key to your car.

Problem is the key card is too thick for my taste. If it was just a little thinner it would be a must have for the car..

What does this mean? From the Sewell page for the card key:

Associated smart wallet key not included.

Also to open the hidden locks in the trunk and driver's door, which would be needed if either the smart key or car battery dies.

That would be pretty scary if anyone could just program it themselves. I'm pretty sure the dealership would have to do it. I could be wrong.

You need a toyota techstream device (or similar device) to program a smartkey device to a car.

Also wondering if it will work on a is350 2007 and if I just can buy it from Sewell and take it to the dealer for programing. Is there a certain way to order it or just click add to cart and buy?

Just add to cart and buy, insuring you selected the right year of your car first

then bring to dealer and ask em to program it... (which will probably be 30 or 60 minutes of labor unless they're REALLY REALLY nice, despite the fact it only takes em 5 minutes)

Default Part Number

Can anyone happen confirm the part number for a key card that will work with my 2008 IS350? There are a ton, and I’m not sure what one is the right one.

Thanks

i tried looking up the key card when i first heard about it a few months and i couldn’t find any for my 2006 is350. all i was able to find is for the 2007+ years. i just assumed 2006 year couldn’t get it. now after reading this tread. i see the 2006 can also support the key card. i might start digging in looking for one. seems gimmicking to get one but it looks cool tbh
