Brake Pedal gets HARD (booster leak?)
Hey guys,
If I don't start the car for two days or more, when I'm gonna use it again and push the brake pedal to start the car, it is really hard (as if you pumped the pedal with the car off until it got hard). Like if it lost the vacuum, I'm thinking it could be a very small leak in the booster.
Has someone else experienced this? Did a search but didn't find anything.
Thanks in advanced.

Yeah I know it's normal that it gets hard when you pump it with the car off, but that is not the case.
The pedal gets hard by itself (without me pumping it) if I don't start the cars for a couple of days. It gets soft again once I start the car.
Thanks though

You don't even need to really pump it, just press the pedal enough for green light to go off on the start button and fire away! I left my car for two days if I don't go out on the weekend and stay home - never paid attention to this kind of issue or notice anything out of the ordinary.

I happened to me during the winter time. Every time I would press the brake pedal to push the Start button, it would barely have enough free-play for the button to turn green. My auto tech teacher and I both agreed it was just a pressure loss from a leak in the piston boots or lining. It eventually went away when the weather got better. You can go get a free brake inspection at Pepboys, they actually are able to find out the problem.

Just wanted to check if this had happen to someone else, but I see it isn't normal. My warranty will expire in a couple of months, maybe I'll have it checked before it does.
Thank you all for the replies

That's weird that it gets hard without needing to pump it. Normally the only way it gets hard is to pump it a few times at the very minimum. Sounds like you have a defect of some sort.
