Default FEELER...powdercoat rims or buy new ones

Hey guys and gals,

Trying to get some opinions on whether to to powdercoat my five axis gunmetal rims to a ultra bright silver or buy new rims. I've had the rims only a year and after looking at many black 2is with silver, brushed or lighter color rims it's making me think. I like the rims, but i do like just alittle contrast.

Any thought or ideas are welcome.

thanks.

kybball,

yeah new rims are fun but for budget reason's i might not be able to afford what i want. I like the stechs. ride isn't to harsh and the drop imho is the best looking for springs. i'm thinking about getting coils maybe next year if i still have the car.

Provide a good profile pic of your car and have someone in the photoshop thread change the 5AD rims to silver.

I don't know of any other S5:F rims that have been powdercoated, so it would be a nice, unique mod.

Forgive my ignorance, but aren't they painted gunmetal/black? If they are just sandblast, polish and clear!

well if you love your rims and dont prefer another style, then powdercoat! or else if you're going for another look then time for new rims. the S5:F's are pretty sweet rims though. powdercoat gets my vote

powdercoat them to a lighter color. It'll save you a ton of money and hassle of trying to sale them and still be very unique

Default where do you leave car when rims are powder coating

If I want to powdercoat my rims black to my is350, how are people handling this? Where is the car left at for 2 days while the rims paint? Most shops are telling me I have to bring in the 4 wheels. thank you !

Pretty sure most people swap their tires/rims on the car with an old set/winter setup/stock setup while the 4 wheels are getting powdered. Or if you have 2 cars, and the shop is willing and trusted, leave the car with them.
