About to buy a 2007 IS250... however some people say it's not for tall people... I'm 6'1 - is this going to be a problem?
I'm 6'0" with a large build. My hair touches the headliner but I sit somewhat upright. Years of driving sports cars put me in that habit. A person under 5'8" can sit comfortably behind me, given they have smaller legs.
You'll be fine, I'm 6'1" and someone that was 6'5" was going to buy my is250. But as stated, no one can sit behind you typically. In a crunch, i can scoot up enough to allow for someone behind me, but it is definitely not the most comfortable way to drive haha.
It sucks for tall people if you want to carry some friends in the back. I am 6'3" and when I drive, the front seat is almost touching the rear seat. That's why I have a 4Runner too.

Why don't you sit in the car and tell us? Have you even driven the IS?
I don't mean to sound harsh, but come on, if you've test drove the IS before I'm sure you took the time to adjust the seat to ensure you're in comfortable driving position. That's the first thing ANYONE would do- ensure they're comfortable in the driver's seat. Don't let people tell you what you can and cannot drive.
And for the record, I'm 6"1'/210lbs and I have no 'fitment issues'; its a rather comfortable car even for a person of my stature. Its not an S-Class, so expect your head to be an inch or so away from the ceiling, and your hair might cling onto the headliner. Two days after I got the car I drove for three hours straight and did not emerge with a sore back when I filled up on gas, unlike my G35 and old SCs.
The guy is driving it down here from boston tomorrow. If 10 out of 10 people said it was a problem I would have told him to not waste his time...
Drive another IS, even if its one thats beat to hell with pearl pink paint. Its the same exact car.
When I'm in the market for a car, I sit/drive the first one I see. If I like it, then I'll begin my search for the specific options and color I want. If I hate it, then I didn't waste any of my time holding out months for a certain optioned/colored car, only to realize I did not like it at all.

I don't wait months. I started the search yesterday at 5pm for this car. I'll have it by saturday if I want :P
