Default powdercoated rims but need advice

So i recently powdercoated my stock rims satin black because i wanted a new look on my wheel and i dont have the money to buy new wheels. The color looks great and i really like the way it appears with my black onyx car. the only problem is i feel like my it looks so small . it really makes me jealous when i see you IS's with 19-20 inch wheels while i have my 17 inch... I was wondering if lowering my car would lessen that gap from my fender and make the wheels appear bigger. Does it? If so what lowering springs should i get? i have a 2006 is250 AWD. I am completely unfamiliar with lowering my car. I also dont have much money to work with is it possible to get some reliable springs under 200? Any information is helpful!

here is a pic of my wheel, sorry its not good quality on the iphone... will post more pics of my whole car soon

black makes all objects look small, that's why they look even smaller after you painted them black, a drop will help

Dropping it would definitely makes the gap look smaller. But you also have to consider the overall look of the car after you drop, maybe it even look "funnier" because your wheels are still small and now the car is lower, kinda like the basset hound. Sorry no offend.

Another point, why would you want to lower it when you have AWD? Isn't AWD mean higher to withstand?

i have a 08 250 awd and just got H&R springs, 2nd lowest drop for springs and it made a huge difference with the oem rims, looks way better. price i think was 260, but the lowest spring is roadmagnet with a 2" drop which is alot, i cant imagine what that could do with ride quality, plus that would make alot of rim/tire combos rub or if you have a lip it could get messed up on 17" rims.
