Maintenance & Repair in San Francisco
Hey all,
I have just gotten an 2008 IS250. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for service shops I can take the car to for routine maintenance checks (every 5k ones) and minor repair jobs that are not covered by the warranty (e.g. brake pads).
I'm usually a DIY person, so I'm sure eventually I'll learn this stuff for cars, but for now, I'm currently not equipped and don't have the space to do much/anything at all. I live downtown in the city, and I was hoping to find a shop nearby with reasonable prices, but more importantly that I can trust; and my search on the forum came up pretty short on results.
Thanks!

I would recommend only using the dealer for vital services like an oil change or brake fluid flush. I wouldn't ask for 30K, 60K or whatever incremental service, since that is significantly more expensive. Just do it a la carte and do as much as you can (like AC filter changes) by yourself. This way you get the service records in the Lexus database, but don't waste that precious money which could go toward mods.

Thanks, I guess I hadn't noticed the NorCal section. I went to Lexus Serramonte once so far. The service was good, but it seems to be pricier than I expected ($420 for their intermediate maintenance, every 15k, normal?) and it's really not convenient to go there during the week.
Also, I thought I'd get a lexus loaner, but they had run out by the time I got there, and was stuck with chevy impala from enterprise.
