Default Valve Stem Caps

Do you guys bother using the valve stem caps? I'm on my stockies again and AGAIN thieves steal my caps. I walk out to my car and my valve stems are gone. I'm thinking what's the point of buying another set of caps when the thieves will probably twist them off again..

I'm 100% sure they didn't fall off. I washed my car the day before and they were on and tight.

You should always use valve stem caps. The valves could malfunction and/or corrode over time when the elements get to them. If someone keeps stealing your caps, just use the cheap black ones. No one ever bothers taking those.

Please only use the oem stem caps on the sensors. Others will pretty seal on the stem and break your sensors for sure.

OEM plastic ones work too correct? As long as it's not different metals then it won't cause any reaction on the stem right?

ya as long its not a different metal, i dont se any problems occurring by using the plastic caps.

Always make sure to use the valve stem caps!!!!

I had a customer here last week with a Sienna for tire replacement, and the tech couldn't take the valves out of the stems (2 wouldn't even let air in either) due to so much corrosion from not having caps on...she had to replace all 4 sensors as well (an additional $480 in just parts, then labor to reprogam the system for new sensors)

Also, be careful on what type of cap you use and how tight you put them on...aluminum can fuse to the stem, seen that before too (Nitrofill had to issue new plastic stems instead of the aluminum ones due to this)

I got a set of plastic black ones. Aluminum looks better but I'm pretty damn sure it's going to be gone if I purchase another set. Plastic ftw!
