the big fat Decoder ijdmtoy sells will not fit into the headlight housing. u going have to leave the dust cover off, i have read some guy broke the covers off and wrapped it with electric tape or drill a hole in your dust cover and run the wires though it and seal up that hole.

I was able to fit mine into the housing it takes a little squeeze but fits right in I kind of angled it and worked it in slowly... Leaving cover off is a nonono will see moisture in your headlights

2011 Ls460 wanted to replace the front dome light and maybe the rear dome. Understand some had a problem with the key fob acting strange. Would it be less of a risk changing the bulbs if I went with the less bright ones.

Thanks

Are these the bulbs I need to replace the yellow looking DRL's in a 2010 IS250? Do I need some kind of decoder people are talking about? Total noob when it comes to lighting (and everything else actually haha)!

Agreed... That brightness looks blinding!!!!

Default LED headlight bulb

So I decided to not go HID but instead went with LED headlight bulbs to replace my stock halogens. This is more of a feedback from my experience as I haven't seen any info on how LED headlight bulbs perform. I'm referring to the newer designed CREE type LED with cooling fins and driver relay harness designed for headlight application not the older design with the SMD clustering all around the bulb..

LEDs have been the latest technology in lighting so I figured I give this a shot. Anyhow, when I got the bulbs I was impressed at how they were packaged..it was like unboxing a smartphone or some high end mobile device. The bulbs appear to be in high quality fit and finish. Installation was easy and the wiring harness all fit right inside the headlight housing. No bulky ballast or drilling needed.

After installing, the lights turned on without any issues. The color was spot on; 6K diamond white. The cutoff was clean but how the light spread out was too narrow. If compared to HID and halogen as it's lit up at the ground, the cut off is more like a wide U shape, while the LEDs have more of a narrow V shape. The light output was fairly as bright as HID but again isn't as spread out widely as HID.

Overall it's a great product but its performance to me just wasn't as good as HIDs. I'm guessing this explains how newer vehicles, that have the LED headlight technology, have more than 1 bulb per headlight to achieve extreme brightness. I am no headlight expert but just wanted to give my feedback on this product. This is as to not deter others from trying them out for yourselves. That said I'll be exchanging them for a pair of HIDs.
