There is a loss of efficiency in an auto(torque converter) though vs. a manual
In WHP and fuel mileage
Actually quite a lot of manuals get worse mileage than the automatic of the same car anymore.
These aren't 1950s powerglides they're putting in cars anymore.
(the 250 is a great example... the manual IS250 gets worse mileage than the automatic RWD 250... and there's plenty of other examples out there).
The fact you might put a couple extra hp to the wheels doesn't negate how much slower making a human change gears makes the car...(and even then that advantage is going away with cars like the IS-F that lock the converter in all gears but first, so you get no torque converter loss when flooring it)
And to this day I don’t think there’s another car that is within the criteria from the OP and faster than the is350 in the 1/4mile.
