Default Armrest Compartment Removal?

I'm need to find a way to remove the armrest section of the center console. I've done a few different searches and don't seem to be using the right words.
Is the storage compartment that the AUX input is located in removable? If so, how? I'm going to be running a power cord from the cigarette lighter to the underneath of the console and need to find the best way to do it.

I also had the TSB for the inline noise filter on the Aux done early last year and the noise is now recoccurring so it's not a permanent fix apparently.

you can remove it, its a pita though the whole center console will come out. also if you look inside the armrest there is a rectangular piece within the felt that you can pull up. and i agree the TSB didn't fix my problem either
