Anybody changed the auto trans fluid despite manual saying no?
Considering that it's a sealed transmission, I know it's not recommended to touch it. However for those that plan to keep the car for a long time I believe that fluids should be replaced to ensure the drivetrain's longevity.
So has anybody changed the automatic trans fluid even though it is "not required"? Was wondering how the transmission ran after the fluid change.

I did search previous posts (whether or not to it is possible to change it), I know that the manual states that it's lifetime (as there are recommendations for BMWs, etc etc), I know it is not a DIY project (requires the machine that transfers fluid at a specific temp while running).
All I am asking is if someone has actually done the fluid replacement and how it drove afterwards. Thanks all for responding.

someone tried to change mine before i bought my car don't know if happened at the dealer as a mistake or any other private shop but they did changed a lil and it lead to my tranny blowing a seal and making Lexus replace my hold tranny so if I was you I wouldn't touch it....

The nearest I've seen to a "change" was people who pulled the drain plug, got about 15-20% of the fluid out, then refilled it.
Might want to point out to him the page in the owners manual where it explicitly tells you the transmission does not require service, ever, and that it's a sealed unit.

what confuses me is that my dealer offers it at the 60k service

Yeah... lots of dealers also offer "engine cleaning" every 10-15k which isn't called for in the owners manual either. Ditto changing your differential fluid which is never called for in scheduled service.
They're more than happy to charge for plenty of things the car doesn't actually need, it's almost entirely profit for them.

my mechanic did it
replaced the filter or sumthing or rather.
he showed it to me was like a metal thing
he said he pulled it apart.
but i did feel a difference on the car though.
the was jurky at certain throttle applications when changing gears that has all disappeared
