Default Got into an accident(rear bumper came off)

****UPDATE ON THE SECOND PAGE****
Car has been repaired

I was rear ended while going through a left turn at a traffic light. The other person went straight in a Left-Turn-Only lane and did a PITT maneuver on my car. Her car was an Isuzu Trooper 3.5L, it was an old lady.

Here is the location.(the picture was updated since I last posted this) I was where that black car is, and her SUV was to the left of me. Notice the arrows on the ground, only my lane can go straight.
http://maps.google.com/maps?q=Paramu...36.94,,1,10.06

Her car's bumper stuck to mine and ripped off both. I have a dent on the rear panel by the gas tank(driver's side), but other than that it's only a bumper cover that needs to be replaced.

Everything was filed in the report, and it's her fault. But I just wanted to find out on how I should get it fixed. Should I go to any body shop or Lexus dealer, or what? The only thing I know is to make sure they only use OEM parts.

Good luck, looks like $3000 in damage, just go to a good body shop.

Ouch! that is nasty!

i would say to go to whoever you feel more comfortable with. if you got friends at body shops go there. or if you like your local dealer, go there too.

GL homie!

Wow, I was thinking 1000 max, that's crazy. Well actually 1000 just for bumper cover.

Btw, how do they repair that rear panel, it goes all the way around the top of the car. Will they need to repaint the whole panel to match the paint color?

Or you could go crazy and do the ISF rear bumper mod outlined in this thread.

I could see $3k being a reasonable estimate. You have to figure the cost of the bumper cover, paint and labor.

They'll almost definitely only be painted that 1/4 panel so make sure you find a body shop that you feel will color match well.

yeah looks like about 3k damage because of rear quarter panel. unfortunately that piece as a whole all the way to the front, I think it might be possible to repair it. They would probably repaint that whole piece and blend in the paint to the rear door. One thing I hate about repainting is orange peeling. It depends from shop to shop but watch out for that afterward.

Never in a million years, I really dislike the fake tips and that whole rear end of the ISF.

It's more then just the quarter panel. Looks like the rear end of your car has shifted. Check your gaps on the rear door lines.

I was rear ended a long time ago. Damage was about 6-7K, and the bumper was still attached lol.

Also Look under the trunk mat where the spare tire is. Check for damage down there. Also have the body shop make sure your exhaust did not get damaged. Very sensitive car!!!
