Not true. They can reinitialize the existing one with their Techstream scan tool. If they don't have an existing key, they have to go through a challenge/response validation; the scan tool displays a number, the dealer goes to a special screen on the TIS website only available to security professionals and enters it, the web site give them back another number that they enter which completes the programming. The only time the dealer would need to replace the immobilizer ECU is if there were too many invalid reprogramming attempts and the system locked out.

thanks guys ,its going to lexus dealer tomorow, i paid about $25k for it with fees and delivery to the midwest from texas,,ill tell you guys what it costs to get a key fob programed and to get the car started ,,thanks
