sorry i still doubt it.

please note that i am judging this by common sense.

35K IS: Semi analine leather standard versus
70K LS: No Semi analine leather standard

does this make sense to anyone? i think not.

I agree, and also Lexus does say online and in brochures if it comes with Semi-Aniline leather. It's optional on the ES and LS and it says if it's optional.

Maybe i can clear this up. On all 2IS when you have ventilated seats you have semi-analine leather. The window sticker lists this as perforated leather upgrade because it is in upgrade. This is per Lexus.com and also lexus magazine and other info ive heard. As for the semi-analine in the LS its an option but also adds leather onto the bottom of the dash and on the doors and center console. As for the ES when you get the vented seats you also get semi analine leather but you also get leather on the door panels.

I hope this can kind of clear up the confusion. And as for the IS-F per Lexus its standard on this model.

My friends has a 328-325-335 bmw, and their leather seats feel so fakes, he even said it himself, it hard like plastic . I was looking around to find a used salvage for IS , i wanted some black interiors , because my is getting darker and darker(just clean mines todays ) sigh.

I believe this to be true, I just sat in a non perforated leather 250 yesterday and it was very different. I was told that regardless of perforated leather in the 08's it will not be semi-annaline. I am not sure if this Lexus rep was correct or not. I think we cleared up most of this (LOL). Thanks MSMLexIS!!!

Given the part number didn't change for 08 it seems unlikely they changed the type of leather on the seat

^^ Actually, the part numbers did change but not because of the quality of the leather. The 08's have the redesigned seat backs for better rear seat leg room.

I thought the point of the above was to show it did NOT change from 07 to 08 (the backs did of course, but not the leather on the seats)

I posted this graphic out of the parts book because someone had questioned weather semi-aniline leather was still available in 2008. This shows that *all* IS's, 2006-2008 have semi-aniline leather. The part numbers are different, yes, but the leather quality has not changed.

Either I'm reading the graphic totally wrong, or the part number did NOT change from 07 to 08.

It's quite possible it's just written confusingly.

When it says 2007-08 there, does it mean 07 and 08, or is that some kind of sub designator for 07? If so then 2008 isn't even listed and it doesn't really tell us anything about changes for 08.

If it means 2007-2008 though it's pretty clearly the same part # for 07 and 08.

I should have clarified that better, sorry. 2007-08 means 08 (Aug) of 2007. What it is telling you is that Aug of 2007 and newer cars have the different part number. Of course, Aug of 2007 and newer cars are 2008 model year cars. Hope that helps.

Oh, yeah... that makes a LOT more sense now.... I was about to have to run out to my car and check if somehow the front and backs of the front seats are different pieces to explain it... thanks for the clarification

I dont know about all this comments but I know one thing for sure: The leather seats I've got are smoth as gloves after what, 5years..soon 6years!!!! Love the hole interior and I'll never would go back to BMW. I thought once you drive BMW you always will. .as they said..! Well crap!! The old Bmw manufacturing its completely changed nowadays. Today you pay for the badge and only. Same Mercedes. The ****yest body work in Mercedes history was from2005 onwards!
So..last words to be said, Lexus its a greate car far from perfect but., a really greate car.
