All,

I am planning on painting my calipers. It seems relatively straight forward and easy but I wanted to be sure, since it is the first time I have done it. I searched under caliper paint and saw some great finished pics and alot of "mention" of a DIY but was unable to find that actual thread. Does anyone have a link to the DIY for caliper painting. I want to be sure I take all the necessary precautions and do a good job.

Also any recommendation on paint?

Here's the DIY - pretty straightforward.

1. Take off the wheel.
2. Mask off the car fenders, wheel well, rotor, and braking components, leaving the caliper exposed.
3. Paint the caliper. 3-4 coats looks great. If you want the "Lexus" lettering, paint the caliper white first, affix the sticker, paint the caliper black, then remove the sticker. Or, paint the caliper black, affix the white sticker, then paint clear over the sticker.
4. Remove paper masking and re-install wheel; torque to factory specs.
5. Enjoy your calipers.

There are a couple of places that sell the stickers. I think a member in the forum sells them too.
