Default Nav tv/dvd converters on ebay?

Has anyone seen this? Did a search and found a conversion kit specifically for our car. I wonder if it really works. The feedback for this company is 100% and everyone who purchased the kit for their cars say it works. See for your self, here's the link!

^^

Good catch Ken. I was just thinking of the same thing yesterday when I browsed his feedback. Although it only goes back 90 days for the detailed view so somebody with a 2IS could have bought it from him before that.

Anyway, I asked for some instructions regarding this kit from the seller : cardemand@hotmail.com

Attached is what he sent me.

That's cool that you asked for more info. So it emulates a CD changer to control the video, from the pdf you attached:
Operation
1. Press DISC twice for entering to AV input function
2. Press SEEK/TRACK key till a “beep” sound alert, AV1, AV2 can be selected
3. While using the navigation system, press DISC twice for returning to AV function.
That's better than a external switch for switching video, I like that.

His auction also listed his phone number:
All of our units come with vehicle specific installation manual, if you have any question about installation please email us at cardemand@hotmail.com or call us at 718-483-3959 we are open Monday thru Friday from 10am to 6pm EST.
I tried doing a reverse lookup of the phone number but didn't get anything. I thought if he had been in business for a while and he keeps regular hours like that the number should be listed. The hotmail address wasn't giving me much confidence either. Someone (not me) needs to be an early adopter and try this thing.

That is different, that is a group buy for a DVD/NAVI Override Kit that allows input while driving, it doesn't add any external video sources. But that thing is also kind of cool I was considering that one since the lockout while driving really pisses me off sometimes.

I believe that is what you're looking for. As I said before, some vendors already developed this kind of box for Taiwan Lexus owners.

This box has 2 inputs, one is your original video cable, and the other is so called external video. And 1 output to your display. When you press DISC twice, this box will switch your original video singal to external one. And your display still thinks the video is coming from oem dvd player.
