Another...yellow fog light question
I've tried doing some research on the yellow fog lights, but haven't been able to find out the following answer:
What do older Lexus models with OEM yellow "appearing" fog lights use? For example, the 1st gen IS's use the same 9006 bulb. So, is it a yellow fog light cover, or just a yellow bulb.
THEN...second question: if it is just a yellow bulb, couldn't one just use the bulb from an older lexus model to replace the ISx50's factory fog bulb. That way, you don't have to worry about the possibility of inferior bulbs or high wattage bulbs?
The answers to these questions would be great. But, please don't recommend HID's (that is NOT an option) or specific bulb brands. I've already done the research on both of those topics.
TIA

IS300's came equipped with 9006 from 2001 to 2003
and then H3 from 2004 - 2005
The bulbs were always clear.. It was the lens inside the projector housing that had yellow ion color on the outer layer of the glass.
I will be putting yellow bulbs in my Fog lights in the weeks to come
We will need size 9006 for the IS250 & IS350 - "Yellow" Fog light bulbs..
I already have the blue overlay on the fogs too..

I've been using Luminix (sp?) JDM yellow 9006's for nearly a year now with no issues. Bottom line- $35 and couldn't be happier. You could spend more on more recognizeable brand names- but I personally know of too many people that had issues with expensive bulbs...

Except on my IS300 the bulb was clear and the projector lense was yellow as stated earlier.
The outer fog light plastic lense had the blue Aerotect on it.
Click on lower right hand corner of each pic for Full Size
Both Heads & Fogs with blue Aerotect below:

These two are just my oem yellow fogs with blue overlay:
