Default IS250 AWD Tire Recommendations

Friend has the IS250 AWD with the Bridgestones. I believe she had the Dunlops originally and did not like the ride (squirmy on the highway) so the dealer swapped them out.

She has 34K and they are due for replacement.

She lives in Chicago and needs and All Season Tire (don't push the snows, she won't go there and yes, I'm a HUGE fan of them).

She drives normal. Not aggressive.

Any recommendations? Stick with the OEM?

I say go with Bridgestone Potenza the higher end series not the RE92 thats the OEM since the OEM tread is only 160.

Nokian WR ALL-WEATHER. The ride and handling is as good as any A/S tire but it's actually rated as a snow tire that can be used all season.

I acutally have these Nokian WR's as my dedicated snow tires because I used to have these run on my IS300 all year round.

Even with AWD I'm an advocate of having proper snow tires for winter snow/ice driving conditions so since your friend won't buy a winter tire outright maybe you can suggest the Nokian WR to her and it would be a safer tire choice?

i just ordered some new rubber for mine. Comming from the potenzas, I didnt really like em and the tread wear sucks, im only at 23k and im needing to replace my tires already . I ordered the Continental ExtremeContacts and i have heard good things about them so hopefully everything goes good.

I second the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S. Have read many good reviews on Tirerack, and will probably purchase these when it comes to get new tires.

You will be hard pressed to do any better than Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires.

How are the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S tires in the snow?

neova - nice recommendation as well - do you know how long those Nokians last?

Note that I checked her tires last night and they look good for another couple of months. Still I'd like to see her get new tires by Nov.

I've read good reviews of the Bridgestone Pole Positions--any one have thoughts on those?
