I have the IS 250 and i want to fully disable the traction control. It has become apparent that the traction control turns back on once the car is faster than 35 miles per hour. Is there a way to disable it until you turn the car off and back on?

hold down the traction button until the traction control light and pretty sure its the VSC light stay on. It will stay off until you turn your car off and back on.

O alright, and also lets say you were drifting or spinning out around turns, would it be dangerous for VSC to be disabled? What are the chances of your car flipping?

^ ummm if u don't know what you're doing yes it'll be dangerous without traction control. Even if you DID know what you're doing sometimes in street conditions you never know how road imperfections or debris might affect what you thought would happen. And yes flipping is always a possibility if you drift yourself into a big pothole or curb fast enough.

Well hiting a pothole and a curb fast will for sure lead to flipping. but if you just floor it on a you turn or have a sharp turn and give it a little gas... what are the chances that you will flip?

I would say pretty low, but there was someone on here that flipped his IS on a wet road.

Since it's here and it's late, instead of searching I'll just ask here. What benefits does it have on turning the Traction Control and/or the VSC off other than what the owner's manual says? Thanks.

Advantage: you have complete control of the car.

Disadvantage: the car will not help you if you make a mistake.

Turning VSC and TRAC off should be a very conscious act for those times when you expect to want the car to do things it won't do with them on. The rest of the time, those features are to your advantage - especially when commuting, or in the rain, or when you're not 100% sharp (driving home late after a long day, after partying, etc...)

The systems are designed to help retain control of the car and I can say they are vastly better than the evil TRAC Toyota put on the Supra. If you are not 100% on your A game, it's better to leave them alone and let them be your guide. You can do a lot with them still working including small four wheel drifts (just not tail out drifts).
