Default I am so happy, no more pin stripes

When looking for my 350 last April, I found the color combo I liked for the price I was willing to pay on the lot. The only catch was that it had dealer installed hand painted pin stripes. I thought I could live with them, but really wanted them gone. Over the last year I have asked body shops and the dealers if they can be removed, but since they were painted on, the only answer I got was that they can possible be sanded off. Well, I didn't like the sound of that.

Fast forward to last week.

While getting my brakes replaced with the TSIB, I talked to a guy in the show room hand painting pin stripes on a sold, 60k GS (WHY?). I asked him if they can be removed and he say sure, just use a little Acetone and elbow grease, finish with a wax and your good as gold.

I picked up some acetone today and I'll be damn. 4 hours later my pin stripes are gone with no damage to the clearcoat.

This is probably a worthless post to most, but if you want your painted pinstripes gone, it can be done. PM me with any questions.

Not sure where you're from in Texas, but you probably bought at Lexus of Clear Lake. The seem to pin stripe everything on the lot.

I'm from north Texas and Sewell does the same thing here. You can tell a Sewell Lexus on the road by it's pin stripes.

Well, to be honest, I still have a quarter panel to go. I had to stop to watch LOST.

Any marks at the door seams where they cut the pinstripes?
