Mother of all "Should I get IS250 or IS350?" threads (merged into one steaming pile)

To me Toyota in resisting the temptation to hang that sort of non-functional gingerbread on the IS350 that makes me like it all the more. Stealthy speed is class in my book.

The 17" rim is -standard- on all 2ISes. 250 and 350.

The 18s are _always_ an option, it's just rare to find one on a dealer lot that didn't get them via one of the numerous options that grant them (lux, sport, standalone 18" option, etc)

Another unnecessary comment from a member. I really don't understand why ISX50 owners are hating each other. Other comments I read were, "only 250 owners like to debadge, 250s are not fun to drive, 250s are slow, etc..."
For crying out loud, the IS250 and IS350 are both slow (not greater) compared to an IS-F. It's obvious the IS350 is better than a 250, but some of you guys have to remember people who bought an IS250 (like myself) did not buy a IS250 to race against an IS350 or IS-F. I personally bought an IS250 for practicality reasons, moreover, I wanted to used the money I saved to apply towards F-Sport package.
If my purpose is to chase down an IS350, I'll do that with my AMG and call it a day. So lets stop the insanity of putting each other down, and just enjoy the fact both models look similar, and very nice standing still and moving at 65mph.

1. the brakes
2. engine bay
3. the rims spoke the 350 comes with 8 and the 250 with 10
4. if you get sport package then 350 has 255 on the rear tires thats only IF
but other wise if you change the rims and get bigger brake kit and take off the emblem they are the same unless you pop the hood LOL!!

if a 2is owner bought an is250 because he/she could not afford an is350, and then comes onto the forums and not only grand-stands the virtues of the is250 while putting down the is350 because it is more expensive to buy/own/maintain, then isn't that just a case of sour grapes? you think is350 owners aren't tired of hearing/reading about stuff like this?
btw, while i applaud your selection of f-sport parts, you certainly don't expect those f-sport parts to suddenly/magically transform a relatively sedate is250 into a fire-breather...
or do you?
i'm just saying, you know.

I don't think the rims and the hood are different....
and most of us don't bash the 350 owners,,,as a matter of fact most of my friends own 350 and I love them all...
and trust me..I'll choose my 250 anytime and anyday without any hesitation over your 350

2is owners don't necessarily hate each other, but there are times when 350 owners will have to defend themselves from unnecessary criticism from 250 owners - see: higher price, higher insurance cost, gas consumption. while all valid, it's like i said: if you want to play, you've got to pay.

Your points are well taken, but the bashing I'm referring to are not about gas consumption, insurance, and price. I was pointing out stuff I read on this forum that are more harsh, such as the negative comments I pointed out.
That being said, when I had my F Sport accessories installed, my purpose was not to build a fire breathing dragon. Because I am fully aware there is no F Sport accessory that will give an IS an extra 100+hp. I had the F Sports installed for better looks, sound, handling and performance. And I'm one of many drivers who are against street racing. I'm one of many drivers who simply enjoy transforming a stock car into a better looking car.

I agree. And just look how clean it looks next the an IS-F in the exact same color. No bulging hood and front fender vents, etc.
