Wobble due to Bent Rim
And my title should read Wobble due to Bent Rim!
Wellllll...
After all my craziness yesterday..
I took my car to a local Toyota dealership and explained to them my problem.
They balanced my tires, and did my alignment.
AN hour later the guy comes out and tells me I have a BENT rim. It is just a slight bend!
So, I call my Lexus dealership back and provide them with the information from the Toyota dealership. I explain to the service manager that the Toyota guys say my rim is bent slightly and that is why I have the wobble.
There is NO damage to my tire, nor is there any damage to my rim. The Toyota guys were shocked that the rim was bent. SOO I ask my Service manager what Lexus does about that becuase obviously if I tore the rim up the tire and or rim would show some signs of wear or damage! I always knew the car had a little shimmy, but now it was more noticeable and probably because of the tire wear I am getting due to the bent rim!
Anyway.. long story short, after missing work (thank god for leave with pay), and getting my car problem narrowed down my Lexus dealership is going to warranty the rim. They'll have it on Monday, so I'm dropping my car off on Saturday.. cause I can't make that long **** drive on a Monday. And, they are going to provide me a loaner. Geeze, for not having any time to do a silly 1hour service, they sure are handling this problem correctly. I have a restored faith in my service department.
