Default Part Number - engine cover fastener?

Hey folks,

Need your help... searched the forums but cannot get a precise hit.

I installed my intake and froze my butt off. The extreme cold made the screw/clip/fasteners that hold down the engine bay covers brittle and I broke a couple of 'em. Does anyone know what these are called or have a part number?

Thanks.

No idea. Your best bet is just bring a broken one to your dealer and have them look it up.

you can find similar fasteners in auto parts stores, in the screw/bolt section, for a couple of bucks.

I tried my dealer...they want $1 each....and they don't have any...it'll be a few weeks before they can get them....I just went to my local auto parts store.

I'm disappointed that Lexus would use fasteners that are so fragile. The twist-lock fasteners that held the engine covers on my Audi were still going strong after six years. (It's a shame that the same couldn't be said of the parts located under them. )

David, when I broke some of mine, I just told my service rep to replace the broken ones. They did not charge me.

Thanks everyone, good ideas - especially the 'free' one GSE.
