how come some of you guys say you cant close the center console when the ipod is plugged in? what kind of plugs are you using? i've been using the plug that lexus gave me with my nano and the console closes fine..and the ipod sounds good too
I found the volume level via the AUX input to be too low. To improve it, I bought a Belkin Auto Kit ($39 retail). You still need a male to male 3.5mm connector from the Belkin to the AUX input.
Belkin Auto Kit connects the iPod to your car's 12V lighter jack, charging the iPod as well as providing an adjustable amplifier and 3.5mm audio-out jack. All of this is through the iPod dock connector. The extra gain is very nice.
From what I've read on Apple forums, the output via iPod dock connector is superior to that from the headphone jack.
