Getting impatient - I might have to buy a 330i

I ordered it near the end of November and expect it to arrive around the end of February or so. I don't mind waiting since I enjoy driving my other car (a Volvo S60 2.5T which my wife will get when the IS arrives). I know the feeling about not being able to wait - I was the same way when younger. Now, however, waiting for what I really want doesn't bother me.
Wait for the car you really want. It will turn up eventually.

I saw a couple of the 2IS on the road today and they look HOT. I was excited about the IS before the intro based on the pics (more so than the GS and I drive a 2GS) and it looks even better today.
If you had said you like the two equally, I'd say go for the 330. But since you prefer the IS, don't settle. Think of the next 3 months as foreplay. Oh how sweet it will be when your IS gets here.

I'm in the same boat as jayrod..........can't get an IS 250 AWD in the notheast with the options I want, would love the IS350, but not sure how it would do in the weather up here, plus nobody is really giving a good deal on it........I love the GS300 AWD, but there too the dealerships here in CT are just a joke when trying to get the best price for the vehicle...........I sold my BMW and was going to get the IS immediately, but I don't want to compromise on the options.......thought about getting a 330xi or 530xi.......but not feeling the interior.........I'm sure it would be sweet after a owned the car for awhile.......so confused.......

yeah, I wanted the 350 bad.....lack of a manual tranny killed it.......the paddle shifter doesn't cut it.....very slow slushboxy shifts.....too bad too cuz I loved the power.

nah, the 350 wasn't a $$$ issue.....like I said above, it was the lack of a "real" transmission issue

I'm with you Jayrod but looking for a 250 RWD with Nav/ML/Luxury and 17" wheels. And am also trying to work through a dealer in Dallas, but Park Place instead of Sewell. They told me that they would contact me by the 15th but if I didn't hear from them by 1/15 that I'm supposed to contact them. They think what I want may be coming in the end of February but I'm getting tired of waiting too.... plus my current vehicle is in iffy condition. If I don't get some definitive info in the next couple weeks, I'm going to buy an Acura.

You must really like the "real" tranny.
Lack of 100+ hps was an issue for me to get IS250 or 330i (50 in this case)

I am beginning to think I should just get the 3 series and put myself out of my misery. Anyone else in a similar situation? If so, are you going to wait or purchase something else?
Also, how long do special orders usually take?

Yes, I wanted a sports sedan so a manual tranny is an absolute necessity. I would love the extra power but not being able to effectively control that power through a manual transmission means it's pretty useless to me.
