for the people who test drove the is250 awd...
im just wondering /bc a lexus rep called me today about the is250 awd i wanted to order, he told me that the car is fully loaded w/ navi and ml and it cost around 38k plus change... but then i ask him if it comes with illmunated plate on the side and he say no... so here is a QUESTION for the people who already test drive the is250 awd, did the car have illmunated plate or the rep doesnt know what he was talking about. thanks

Test drove the IS250AWD yesterday (10/12) here in Central IL. I believe I was the first person to test drive the demo car the dealership had just received. This was the base IS250AWD and it DID NOT have illuminated scuff plates. I noticed this in particular because I was really looking forward to them (dorky but true).
Some background and first impressions...
I have been waiting on this model for almost a year and had money waiting up to 40K. Bought my wife an '03 ES300 new and love it value for money-wise but want something with more bite for myself.
The IS250AWD has the great Lexus feel but generally left me wanting. Having four doors but such limited space in the back seems odd. Up front is very comfortable but felt confined somehow. The car drove very smoothly but its performance did not excite. I felt short changed by the form factor of the car without the sport-sedan driving experience to back it up.
I plan to test drive the car again this weekend, and will be very interested to try a 350. If the 350 addresses the driving experience (which I am sure it will) it will be a strong prospect. I am concerned about rear wheel drive in the Winter especially having only been in the USA four years and coming from a part of England that rarely sees any snow.
Just wanted to share my thoughts. Cheers.

That's what I am now hoping
The car really does look great in person. The demo I drove was Glacier Frost Mica which was nice although personally I think I prefer a regular Silver.

There is a pic of the scuff plates someone took with their phone. The 250AWD I drove has small plastic scuff plates. They struck me as inferior to the aluminium ones on our ES and were noticeably lacking the cool illumination we desire!
