Is this a good lease?
I'm considering getting an IS300. I found this lease special. What do you guys think. Fair deal or bad deal.
Only Sign ‘N’ Drive, Tier 1 or 2 customers will qualify for the advertised terms. Now through June 30, 2003, you can lease a 2003 Lexus I۰S 5-speed or E-Shift with all-season tires with 17-inch 5-spoke alloy wheels, rear spoiler, trunk mat, cargo net, wheel locks, and Leather/ Ecsaine Trim Value Package, which includes power tilt-and-slide moon roof, (PAUSE) plus delivery, processing and handling fee for just $329 per month for 39 months on approved credit. Optional equipment may vary by region. A total of $3,429 will be due at signing, excluding applicable taxes and fees, in all states except Connecticut, New York, and Rhode Island, where $3,779 will be due at signing, excluding applicable taxes and fees. No security deposit required. Your 39 monthly payments will total $12,831. Your lease-end purchase option will be $18,38215,723.00 for the I۰S 5-speed19,149.20 and $20,011.6016,408.00 for the E-Shift, plus taxes and fees. You pay maintenance and excess wear and tear. You also pay $0.15 per mile over 12,000 miles per year. See your participating Lexus dealer for lease program qualifications. Your monthly payment may vary depending on final price. .....I don't agree with the leasing thing, I am on my seconf IS 300, financed thorugh Lexus for 3.9 % zero dollars down, my payments are $568 a month same as the first IS 300, when you purchase you pay a little more..................but have all the freedom to do what ever you want with the car, some on the CL forums have paid cash for there cars when new, there's no way I would tie cash like that, with the cars value depreciating much faster than if you had the money in a small muni or AA rated bond..................
.....in closing never lease....you never,ever build any kind of equity in the car, you'll be addicted to leasing for life

leasing is a good alternative if you know you wont be staying with the same car for a couple of years.... Always watch out as well for the yearly mileage limit....overmileage fees can add up pretty quickly....
