2jz-ge vvt-i into MX83...... HELP!
Guys, have fitted engine & auto trans from 2002? is300 around 80,000ks into an MX 83 Cressida, but cannot get it to start.
There is no spark or injector pulse when cranking.
The injectors can be triggered from the ECU, so we know they work.
If I remove the crank angle sensor & wave an open end spanner backwards & forwards over it, the plugs spark reliably.
We have swapped crank angle sensor, cam angle sensor, checked power to the coil packs, injectors and ignitor, AFM,and ECU.
Checked the trigger wheel on the crank & all seems to be ok.
Have bi-passed the ignition switch, but can only get one spark from the plugs when cranking.
It's looking like the ECU might have some anti-theft/ immobiliser built in that needs to be disabled.
Really need some help with this guys, we've run out of things to try.
If anyone has an idea, or can point us to someone who may know there way around Lexus wiring it would be greatly appreciated.
Cheers,
Garry.

Don't like my chances of getting the key , or anything else from the donor car.
It had front end damage & the owner had bought it for the leather interior for his is200, LS1 conversion.
That was a couple of months ago, so the shell may be long gone by now.
That's what happens when a deal seems too good to be true, & you jump in without thorough research.
Now if I can only find his contact details again.........

really all you need is the key, or the ability somehow to get a factory key (usually the vin will work)... all you need is the housing, not even the actual key part - just the electronics... then source an ignition (not sure which part of it has the receiver for the key, but whichever part does, is the only part you need) just attach the key housing to the receiver and hide it somewhere...
