Default Clutch slipping

The clutch in my is300 is starting to slip. The car is not modded and I want to keep it that way. It is my wife's daily driver and she loves the car. I am going to attempt to do the clutch replacement myself. Looking on ebay I see some clutch kits that include a flywheel and others without flywheel. Is it necessary/required to replace the flywheel while replacing the clutch? If I need to replace the flywheel. I see lightweight flywheels. Would a lightweight flywheel make a difference compared to the factory flywheel? Would it change the pressure on the clutch pedal (keep in mind this is my wife's car. It just needs to be easy to drive)?

Kit with flywheel

Kit without flywheel

I see kits from Exedy, Aisin, Asco, Sach, Centric, etc. Any brands I should stick to?
Thank you guys in advance

I have replaced clutchs with and without new pressure plates, however I have never replaced the flywheel. It should not be necessary. How many miles? The standard wisdom is to replace the pressure plate. I did a lot of these in a high mileage situation and replaced the pressure plate every other clutch plate. - Dan

Dan,
Car has 45K miles. A lot of short daily drives. My guess is that's what wore the clutch. I am also leaning toward not replacing the flywheel.
Thank you.

Flywheels are like brake rotors, if you will... there is a minimum thickness, and anytime you change clutches, you should have the flywheel resurfaced... Usually costs $30-$50 at a machine shop, some parts places do it too... A lightweight flywheel will not change the clutch pedal pressure, but would generally make it harder to shift - you lose the rotational energy when you go to a lightweight flywheel - the car will accelerate somewhat faster (perhaps not even noticeable), but, when the clutch first starts to grab, it will take more work to keep it running - more throttle is needed, essentially...

How do u know the difference from clutch slip and CDD? Always owning Honda and never dealing with a CDD makes me think mine is also slipping

I found an almost new flywheel on my local craigslist. I replaced the flywheel (toyota), pressure plate (aisin) and clutch disk (aisin) a couple of weeks ago. I did the work myself. The car is running like a charm.

PM if you have any questions.
