Exclamation

Lexus Marketing drove a prototype L-Tuned IS to the SF Bay Area Meet. Here's the response to some questions regarding the car;

"The parts on the L-Tuned IS that I drove at the meet are as follows (this is not a final package, for example, I doubt that the hood will be part of a standard package):

Carbon fiber-look grille
Integrated lip spoiler and custom bumper cover with PIA fog lights
carbon fiber hood
rocker panels
rear valence/bumper cover
rear lip spoiler
18" cast alloy wheel/tire package
slotted rotors
shorter coils 2" drop (approx.)
adjustable shocks
anti roll bar kit
cat back exhaust kit

18" forged alloys are also planned, as is a supercharger."

In regards to the supercharger; "We hope to have it to market by the end of the year. The basic unit will be
designed to work on the GS[300] also, but in order to get the IS system to market
asap we are not doing any development on the GS system. It will probably lag a
few months behind the IS."

TRD offers several roots type supercharger systems. My money would be the same for the IS/GS apps. The beauty of a properly engineered roots blower is instantaneous off idle boost. This makes the engine feel and perform like a MUCH larger engine. GS400 type punch. Maybe even MORE low end torque than a 400.

Wow , they are really doing some work on the IS 300. That option list is twice as many as for the GS .

As i've said before i can't wait for that supercharger

Meanwhile i will work on my suspension . Counting the days.
