Exclamation some gurus out there, please HELP

this the very first mod to my blue crossX

i decided to take out the previous owner's custom intake.

HOWEVER, upon checking out my engine bay, i realized that there i am missing that big black airbox.

MY QUESTION IS, DO I NEED THAT AIRBOX TO BE IN PLACE WHEN I INSTALLED THE K&N intake? cuz when i looked up the K&N instlalation guide, they did retain the AIRBOX in the engine bay

CAN some gurus help???

can you provide pictures of the k&n intake?

is it an actual intake system or just a filter? if its just a flat k&n filter, then yes, you will need the factory airbox, piping and scoop. if its a full intake system and it requires you to use the factory airbox, then you will need to get one. my guess is that they use it for some heat shielding. is it absolutely necessary? maybe not...

the k&n intakes come with an installation guide, no you will not need a stock airbox, k&n intakes come with all necessary bolts, harware, clamps, and etc, the only part you need the switch is the MAF sensor. all you need to do is skip the removal part of the instructions and skip to the first step in installing the new intake and go from there.
