just recently purchased a sportX as some of you have already known. popped the hood and took two pictures of my intake.
should i keep this aftermarket setup? or it's not worth it ? will this help my car perform better or i should simply go back to factory.
please advise thank you !!!!!!

personally i wouldnt keep the set up you have because it isnt CARB exempt, i know K & N intakes are CARB exempt,(not sure about others) which is for emissions testing if your state requires emissions testing. also being lower to the ground like that and the shields underneath it is more likely to suck in water when it rains and etc.

Given that you live in Cali you may need to switch out unfortunately. Instead of going back to OEM get the JoeZ intake pipe. Looks very much like OEM..subtle and it will pass visual smog test. Best bang for your buck intake and it will feel much better than an OEM intake. I think the joeZ runs around 110 bucks or so. You could search around for an used one here on the classifieds. If you want a new one go the ltunedparts.com. BTW, I am running on JoeZ intake with blitz filter and for the money I think it's perfect.

57 Series? is this the one? if so you shouldnt need the OEM air box. this would replace all that.
