Hey guys i have a 2002 is 300 with Auto. It used to be my wifes car and now i decided to take it away and drive it myself. Problem is i tried to get it a little sideways with the traction control off and the wheels spin but the brakes still engage to resist a skid. A friend of mine told me you have to do a code or something to turn it off. Could you guys let me know so i can have a little fun. Thanks

i think if you try to disengage it right before trying to break traction, the traction control will still act up until it regains traction. try turning it off long before?

I thought I was told that VSC cannot be turned off on IS300's. If holding the trac button down for a few seconds doesn't work... then what they said was right.

You'll have to pull a fuse to get rid of VSC... but that's gonna disable your ABS as well.

I have the same problem - I am a little crazy myself and I'd like to slide a little bit - but it doesnt seem to work quite right even in 2nd with the T/C off.

im a little confused so even after you turn off the trac and try to break the tires loose the car still acts as if you never turned it off .....

its just not as sensitive, but it will still try to save your life.

i didnt think the IS300 had vsc...

if you can't get it to burn out, than VSC cannot be turned off. try to burn out, and once you do, leave it "off" for a while and try to show the computer how you drive. just remember when your swerving through traffic that you have the VSC off so that you dont kill yourself...

I know that in my new G35, well 06 (07's suck), if I turn off VSC, I'm on my own. I love it!
