Default how to turn off vsc

is there a way to disable the vsc on our cars? the manual says the traction button turns off the traction control and vsc, but its actually leaving the vsc on, kind of annoying actually in the snow.

The button is right in front of the gear shift. Says Trac Off.

So you are saying the VSC light stays on at all times? If so, you have another problem that is causing this.

no, when i switch the traction control off, the traction control turns off, and the trac off light comes on. according to the manual, turning the trac off should also turn the vsc off, but when the car starts to slide, it starts regulating the brakes and tries to keep it on course. im just curious if its possible to turn this all the way off.

I understand what you're trying to say. Simply you want none of the safety systems to kick in on you automatically when the car is drifting.
I have thought of this question myself a lot. I don't remember getting an answer. But I do remember someone talking about removing a fuse, and that disabled the whole system, so you can drift and do donuts like you'd do on a normal sports car with the traction off.

I hope someone has an idea, as I myself am interested to know.

There is a sensor under the center console that detects acceleration in all directions.
You can disconnect that sensor and it will throw a VSC warning, but will then let you drift if you switch off the Traction control.
On mine, when I reconnected it I had to shut down the car and restart it for the VSC warning to go away, but the ECU retained the error code.
I guess you could fit a switch somewhere to enable/disable this sensor.

Did you switch the mode switch to "Snow"?
Spinning tyres ain't gonna do much in the snow, not that a heavy rear wheel drive car is an ideal snow vehicle at any time.
